[Tutorial] How to play a mod

Post  realnabarl on Fri Feb 01, 2013 7:14 pm

There're still many people asking how to play a mod nowadays on internet.
Here's the guide.

Buy SorMaker in the shop, and then you can enter "SorMaker" in the main menu.

Put your downloaded mod into [your SorR v5 game folder\mod\games] folder.

If you put your mod correctly, you will see the mod in the list, now you can play it. If there ain't any mods available, it will show you a blank list.

All completed mods can be downloaded from HERE.

Cannot play a mod past the character selection screen!

I know this forum is dead and just about everyone is probably gone but you guys really should update this, I'm having the same problem kingdjack3000 has and I signed up here hoping to find a solution for this very reason but it seems I'll never get that now. Neutral

You guys are probably not exporting the folders properly. You need to have the main directory for each mod listed in the mod folder. The main directory needs to have the stage, music, stage configuration files, etc. in the main directory itself, with only the script folder being the only folder going off from the main directory.

I've re done the photos since the old links were broken for realnabarl.

As Saven says, you're probably doing something wrong with the folders. It might help if we knew which mod you're trying to play in the first place.

Also getting the same problem as listed above. To begin with I was getting nothing when I put modded files into the folder then figured you needed folders. I know *duh* Razz
Once I did that the mods started appearing (yay)
I could see the character I'd added when I changed costume on Axel as its just a character being added to the standard SORR V5.1
In reference Benny's question the name of the Mod I'm trying to add is nothing glamorous compared to some of the kick ass looking ones out there it's just an additional character called Maz on the completed Mod's side of this forum. The latest version came with 3 files so I added them to a folder and put it in the mod/games directory. It shows up, the character appears, I select the character and then I just get a plain background with the start button to continue message and it loops back around to character select Sad

3 file names are:
bk3_axel.fpg
f_bk3_axel.fpg
sorr.fpg

I did see on one of your tutorials relating to modding itself on youtube Benny (nice work btw Smile) that you had more files in like a particular mod folder, with like all the stages, like loads more fpg files. However I have no such files in the whole of my SORR directory at all. Other than the 3 listed above ofc.
