The Official Project Y Thread

Have you guys heard about a new role playing beat 'em up game to be released this year for the Mega Drive? No?

I still don't get what's the comparation with the big sized shadow of Rugal at the end of the character concept.

It's to show the size of their sprite style, something that didn't seem possible for a genesis styled beat 'em up.

Fully invested in this project, I'm always down for another beat em up, especially one on the Genesis/MegaDrive.  Very Happy

Yes I've seen this a while back, the graphics look very detailed and the sprites are really big. Groovemaster303 is working on the music  Cool

I have lots of scenes done that probly would never see the light in a SORmaker mod, guess in another project could look better.

Not sure if there are colour restrictions etc. with this running on actual hardware.

As far as I know, there actually are colour restrictions. But they know some tricks to make the Genesis show a lot more colours than what was known to be possible back then.

I have tried to contact them but did not answer me , the truth is that I would like to enter into the project , I have experience doing sprites for characters of Sor 2 and 3.

I approached Christuserloeser about spriting for the project, he seemed impressed by my work. Still waiting a reply back from him as well, they all seem ridiculously busy however.

We have a music sampler for Project Y!.

The entire OST was composed by myself and Trevin Hughes (Jredd) and features around 50 tracks with a real mixture of styles.

Thanks man. When the game releases, this is exactly what the music will sound like in game on the Megadrive. I don't know if I'm allowed to talk about specifics just yet but given the tools available we are making the most of them.  Smile
