| Sor R Metal Slug SE | 1.6

This is the 1.6  update version bro!  bounce

notes:

- Indeed, graphically speaking I believe this is the best result to be found .
- Maybe some players may find the game too difficult, life bars too long ...
- Some enemies are especially beautiful in this mod
- I created palletes for the playable characters as well, hope you like it
- This mod is based on the Metal Slug games
- If you do not use the original colors of this mod some effects of camouflage and thematic art of enemies will be distorted scenario such as vehelits inside the wall in the alien stage for example.
- I have very dear friends and they helped me test my mod several times and so I daresay: no bugs! but if you find I will fix that!
- Special thanks to all forum members who helped me to understand how the tools work
- A special thanks to CajNatalie and Don Vecta, you helped me a lot, even if they do not know = D (my god the eletavor works right!!! LoL)

This looks fantastic! The graphics in the Metal Slug games rank up there with the very best of 2D sprite art, I will download this tonight for sure!

Here is the problem I have (more or less). On a stage where a there are train tracks (when the train can show up either on the upper or the lower lane) there is not graphical indicator on what lane will it show up.

Nope, you have to trust in your instincts and play in the middle of the screen and move accordingly or lure enemies to get into it.

How about just limiting the side it comes from, and make it change the lanes once per pass. I tried to always be on the side of the one that just passed, and after it would pass in the other lane I would have switched to it. However it seems to go randomly.

It is not random. It's SoR3 Train, so it's SoR 3 Pattern. Wink

and so on. (since 1994!)

SoR Remake is the best tribute ever!

This mod is beautiful! Palettes fits well the stages! I was a bit sad that there were no music from Metal Slug, but as I was advancing through the stage, I feel SoRR music fits well too. Nice mix, but plateforming is tricky with Axel 2 so I will wait a bit for reviewing this!

This! This! This! The lack of Metal Slug music and using the generic SOR music was a huge letdown... at least for me.

Regardless, though. Stages are super clean and very well done. Really nice enemy positioning (hard but not broken like Maximum Carnage) and okay palettes (the same, no custom names?)

To become a perfect homage classic I guess it needs the original music from MS and some custom names for the enemies. That's all. Cuz otherwise is very well done.

Played the first 2 stages, Metal Slug assets are amazing, truly beautiful. The palette shines too, very vibrant and combine with the background style. But as Don said, a Metal Slug music or another soundtrack other than the usual SoR could empower the great work in this mod. Another thing that i don't appreciate too much (but it's a personal taste, not a flaw in the game), it's the too long energy bar of the enemies. Because i have played SoR and SoRR mods too many times, i haven't patience to stay fighting the same enemy for 2 minutes. But it's a great deal for people looking for a challenge! And enemy selection and positioning it's well done, no flaws here.

So, for people looking for a good challenge, visually brilliant mod, this is your mod. And even if it's not your case, the MOD deserve to be played because the good taste of the MOD creator shows up.

Score: 8/10

I'll think about it seriously from now on!

In fact, at the moment I am concerned about possible bugs, especially in the last stage of the first path. A friend played hundreds of times and found some glitches in the lava river and also the scene of the last opponent. Nothing too often but I'm thinking of repairs.

This mod is gorgeous and challenging as well. I usually don't need to use a continue to beat a mod, but I almost needed two continues for this one. Then the bad happened...

Final stage, the lava river one. On the screen with the platforms that you have to jump across, I had repeated issues with accidentally knocking enemies onto the platform behind them with my attacks, and then not being able to scroll the camera over to hit them, meaning that I could no longer progress in the game. The first time it happened was against a ninja, and I had to kill myself to get the guy to move to a place where I could hit him. The second time was against the two Blaze clones, and no matter what I did I couldn't hit the one that was off screen.

I obviously haven't been able to beat the mod yet because of this, but I do have to say that this is the only complaint I have about it so far! I'm really liking what you have here Rainmaker, and I think the flaws in the last stage could be pretty easily fixed by tinkering with the camera lock placement and such. Nice job!

When I tested the mod I used my main character "max the trash compactor '= D and do not usually do release enemy away as' shiva's hadouken' then did not notice this bug! Another problem a friend of mine saw the next scene. Already am to fix it and post an update soon.'m also now organizing a new setlist and custom names, thanks for the suggestions guys.

It works well. The only issue I had was that I forgot to delete the SoR intros when I copied the Metal Slug music over Smile I'm fixing that issue now. I haven't played through the Alien House X stage yet, but everything else is working fine.
